Guangzhou Daily: Huangpu hosts corrosion control technology forum

The China Corrosion Control Technology and Industrial Development Forum was held in Guangzhou's Huangpu district on April 24 concurrently with themed activities to mark World Corrosion Awareness Day.

More than 500 experts, scholars and industry insiders attended the event, which was hosted by the World Corrosion Organization and the Guangdong Corrosion Scientific and Technological Innovation Research Institute.

Damien Feron, president of the World Corrosion Organization; Michael Schutze and Amir Eliezer, former presidents of the World Corrosion Organization; Gunter Schmitt, president of the International Corrosion Council; Nick Birbilis, deputy dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Australian National University; and Ronald Latanision, an academician of the US National Academy of Engineering, delivered video speeches.

Xue Qunji, Gong Shengkai and Yu Shandong, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, made reports based on their scientific research.

More than 100 academic reports were made in six sub-forums related to corrosion control technology in the oil and gas, marine, new energy and aviation industries, general corrosion control technology and service performance evaluation technology.

In addition, the event also featured a product and technology exhibition to showcase the scientific and technological innovation achievements of corrosion control technology, as well as a roadshow for corrosion control projects.
