Huangpu's fiscal expenditure totals 10b yuan in Q1

The fiscal expenditure of Guangzhou's Huangpu district reached 10.07 billion yuan ($1.55 billion) in the first quarter of this year, up 27 percent year-on-year, according to the Huangpu bureau of finance.

During the January-March period, Huangpu increased the output to improve people's livelihoods. It strengthened financial support to consolidate poverty alleviation achievements and to shift the work focus to rural rejuvenation.

Moreover, the district was committed to helping small and medium-sized enterprises solve their difficulties and stabilize employment. It increased spending to spur a more balanced development in the education sector.

Huangpu's fiscal expenditure reaches 10.07 billion yuan in the first quarter of this year with a year-on-year growth of 27 percent.

For example, expenditures for general public services, education and employment recorded growth rates of 26 percent, 44 percent and 69 percent.

Disbursements involving basic livelihoods, salaries and operation of grassroots governments were prioritized. The funds earmarked by the Central government were allocated to the grassroots institutions directly to prevent any interception. As of March 31, Huangpu had received and allocated a total fund of 130 million yuan, of which 45 million yuan were spent to benefit 7,402 people.

In addition, Huangpu fiscal authorities have given full support to boosting scientific and technological innovation, advancing key policies, reforms and projects in the district, and fostering a "dual circulation" pattern in which Chinese and foreign markets complement and reinforce each other, with the domestic market as the mainstay.
