Huangpu research institute to push forward TCM innovation

The New Huangpu Traditional Chinese Medicine Joint Innovation Research Institute was officially launched in Guangzhou Development District on March 19.

The research institute is jointly operated by the GDD Administrative Committee, the Institute of Basic Theory for Chinese Medicine at the China Academy of Chinese Medicine Science, and the Guangdong Greater Bay Area Institute of Integrated Circuits and Systems. Zhang Boli, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Tianjin University of TCM, has assumed the position of director general.

Envisioned as a leader in the scientific and technological innovation of TCM equipment and an incubator of the big health industry, the facility is committed to pushing forward the cross-over of TCM and the latest modern technologies.

It will undertake research into TCM theories and standards, chronic disease management, the development of TCM in the digital era, product testing and the incubation of the big health industry relying on an integration of multidisciplinary resources in the areas of TCM, big data, integrated circuits, high-end manufacturing and new materials.
