Boluodan Temple Fair cancelled to curb COVID-19 resurgence

The 16th Guangzhou Folk Cultural Festival & Huangpu Boluodan (Birth of Boluo) Temple Fair has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With a history of more than 1,000 years, the temple fair is the oldest, largest and most influential of its kind in Lingnan, and attracts huge numbers of visitors to Nanhai God Temple on the 11th-13th day of the second lunar month every year.

The event has been cancelled in order to prevent a resurgence of the COVID-19 epidemic caused by such mass gatherings, although the overall epidemic situation is well under control in China.
