First 3A-grade hospital in CSGKC opens its doors

The Huangpu Campus of Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, the first 3A-grade (the highest of China's three-tier grading system) hospital in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC), officially went into operation on March 16.

With a floorage of 104,000 square meters, the first phase of Huangpu Campus has been initially equipped with 633 beds, 64 outpatient clinics and 16 standardized operating rooms. The number of outpatients is expected to exceed 300,000 in 2021, while that of discharged inpatients will exceed 40,000.

The Huangpu Campus of Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center officially goes into operation on March 16.

The campus now has departments specializing in head and neck, chest, liver, colorectum, gastric surgery, urinary surgery, breast, internal medicine, radiotherapy, nasopharynx, hematopoietic malignancy, bone and soft tissue tumor, and interventional therapy, among others.

Notably, it also boasts the first surgical robot in Guangzhou's Huangpu district. The most advanced model in the country, the Da Vinci surgical robot conducted an operation on a 75-year-old patient with prostate cancer during the hospital's trial operations, and the patient is now recovering well.
