16 Huangpu enterprises enter 2020 unicorn list

Sixteen Huangpu enterprises have been included on the 2020 "Innovative Unicorn Enterprises in Guangzhou" list.

The selection was conducted under the guidance of the Guangzhou municipal science and technology bureau. It is meant to identify innovative local enterprises that engage in strategic emerging industries such as information technology, the Internet of Things and biomedicine, and that feature fast growth and huge development potential.

The entries were divided into three categories based on their scale and characteristics: innovative unicorn enterprises, future innovative unicorn enterprises and top-notch enterprises. In addition, there were seven other Huangpu enterprises selected as top-notch enterprises, and 13 Huangpu enterprises selected as future innovative unicorn enterprises. Of these, five were awarded both the top-notch enterprise and future innovative unicorn enterprise titles.

Unicorn enterprises are favored by the capital markets, with three Huangpu companies on the 2019 list – Guangzhou Risong Intelligent Technology, Xpeng Motors and Guangzhou Ruoyuchen Technology – going public.
