Technology allows residents to watch their new homes being built

Updated : 2021-01-19

Residents of Guangzhou's Huangpu district can now monitor the construction of their resettlement homes from a cellphone app using "8K+5G" technology.

The renovation of Dalang village involves 20 hectares of land and more than 1,600 residents. The old village is being demolished and rebuilt with resettlement houses, plus a public kindergarten and a primary school.

The first phase of the resettlement has been selected as a pilot project for "cloud monitoring", to keep residents updated on the progress and quality of the construction work, and boost their confidence in urban renovation.

The project is utilizing 8K ultra-high-definition all-in-one webcams that feature an F2.0 large-aperture ultra-wide lens and Hi3559A master chip. With an ingress protection rating of 66, the cameras can adapt to all kinds of extreme weather.

In addition, the live streaming technology and 5G network will enable smooth real-time video transmission.
