Huangpu's foreign capital actual use sees record high in 2020

Huangpu has also been seeking to attract more investment by relying on leading enterprises and promoting industrial agglomeration.

The biomedical innovation park in the north of China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City has been in development since 2017, and its biomedical cluster keeps growing. In 2020, influential bio-pharmaceutical enterprises - such as Creative Biosciences (Guangzhou) Co Ltd, Zhongrun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co Ltd, and Welman Pharmaceutical Co Ltd - chose to settle in the park.

In addition, the district has attracted a number of innovative projects through its more than 1,000 high-level talents.

In 2020, BeiGene, established by renowned biologist Wang Xiaodong, and Inno Care, initiated by member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Shi Yigong, were put into production. The National Center for Nanoscience and Technology led by Zhao Yuliang, a CAS academician, had 21 technology transfer projects put into operation.

Construction of the national supervision and inspection center for the quality of air purification products, which was launched by Zhong Nanshan, a prominent Chinese respiratory disease expert, is in progress in Huangpu.

To date, the district has a total of 74 projects by academicians of the CAS and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
