Criss-crossed railway network to take form in Huangpu by 2025

Updated : 2020-12-25

Plans have been made to construct a criss-crossed railway network for Guangzhou's Huangpu district during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) period.

A total of 10,000 kilometers of inter-city, urban, and suburban rail lines will be built in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, and the Yangtze River Delta by 2025. Upon completion, inter-city travel within these city clusters will take less than two hours, and the travel time within the metropolitan areas will be cut to less than an hour, according to the National Development and Reform Commission.

Guangzhou's Metro Line 28 will connect Huangpu with Foshan, Dongguan, and Huizhou. Guangzhou Metro and Foshan Public Resource Trading Center have issued the public notice calling for bids of its controlled planning.

The Guangzhou-Shantou High-speed Railway will bring Huangpu closer with Huizhou and Shanwei. When it comes into operation in 2023, the travel time between Guangzhou and Shanwei will be cut to one hour.

The Xintang-Baiyun-Guangzhou North Intercity Railway will set up four stations in China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC), connecting Huangpu with Huadu, Baiyun, and Zengcheng districts. The rail line will be put into trial operation in the first half of next year.

The Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Zhuhai-Macao High-speed Railway, which will pass by Yuzhou Station, will begin construction in 2021.

The Second Guangzhou-Shenzhen High-speed Railway will start from Huangpu and run through Dongguan to reach Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport. A public notice has been released calling for bids of its preliminary feasibility report.

In addition, the Guangzhou-Conghua Intercity Railway will set up a CSGKC North Station in Huangpu.
