Guangzhou renders great role to Huangpu over next 15 years

Huangpu district has been endowed with a demonstrative and pioneering role in industrial development, scientific and technological innovation, business environment optimization, old town, factory, and village transformation, as well as Belt and Road cooperation over the next 15 years.

The Suggestions of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee on the Compilation of the 14th Five-year Plan of Guangzhou's Economic and Societal Development and Vision 2035 was released on Dec 21. Huangpu is mention eight times in the document, which totals 29,000 words.

Article 7 of the document voiced support for Guangzhou Science City to be established as an international first-class smart manufacturing center and a demonstration zone where small and medium-sized enterprises can make great accomplishments. In addition, the article also proposes to bolster Huangpu as a pioneer zone for the innovation of hard technology.

Huangpu is renowned for its scientific and technological innovation. 

Article 28 mentioned support for Huangpu to become a national pilot site for old town, factory, and village transformation, while Article 53 put forth the establishment of Huangpu as a demonstration zone for Belt and Road cooperation and innovation.

Of note, the district is also expected to lead the country in business environment optimization.
