HENN to plot urban design of Guangzhou Science City

The Guangzhou Development District Administrative Committee signs a strategic cooperation agreement with HENN on Nov 27.

A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between the Guangzhou Development District Administrative Committee and German architectural consultancy HENN on Nov 27 for the plan, design, and construction of Guangzhou Science City over the next five years.

Sun Wei, a partner at the HENN Beijing office, noted that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is the strategic focus of China's development, and that Guangzhou Science City is one of the sectors with the greatest development potential in Guangzhou.

HENN wants to bear witness to the development of Guangzhou Science City, and help it provide a better environment for enterprises and scientific research institutions relying on its expertise, added Sun.

Lucie Merkle, a representative of the State of Bavaria – China Office, said that HENN has designed many impressive urban architectural works and is an ideal partner for Guangzhou Development District to build a high-tech science and technology industrial park.

A leader in the global design sector, HENN boasts more than 300 large projects across the world, covering the overall planning of projects like research and innovation bases, super high-rises, as well as enterprise headquarters. Its projects in the district include LG Small Town, Overseas Returnee Small Town, and Biosafety Base.
