Chinese Academy of Sciences projects thrive in Huangpu

Updated : 2020-11-23

A delegation led by Bai Chunli, president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), visited Huangpu district on Nov 21 and 22.

The delegation toured the Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health of CAS, the National Institute of Nanotechnology Innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Institute of Corrosion Science and Technology, as well as the Guangzhou Regenerative Medicine and Health Guangdong Laboratory (Bioland Laboratory) to acquire a better understanding of local scientific and technological achievement transformation.

Bai spoke highly of Huangpu's support to CAS projects at a symposium. He noted that the rapid development of the National Institute of Nanotechnology Innovation in such a short time went beyond his expectations, especially the settlement of the 5G filter project, which took a mere 10 months.

As of now, there are 13 CAS projects in Huangpu, including two major scientific and technological infrastructure projects, 10 high-level innovation platforms, as well as one master fund for achievement transformation.

Eight units directly affiliated to the CAS, such as the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, the Aerospace Information Research Institute, the Institute of Microelectronics, the Institute of Automation, as well as the Institute of Metal Research, have set up research institutes in the district.
