Construction completed on tram line 2's Xiangxue Ave section

Construction of the Xiangxue Avenue section of tram line 2 in Guangzhou's Huangpu district has recently been completed.

The north-south tram line 2 is an artery transportation line in southern Huangpu, which integrates business, commuting, and sightseeing functions.

Spanning 2.6 kilometers, the Xiangxue Avenue section connects five stations, including Huangpu Library, Xiazhong Road Intersection, Meitian Road Intersection, East Xiangxue Park, and Xiangxue Park.

It adopts embedded tracks at level crossings and turning-around lanes, which boast high safety, comfort, vibration dampening, insulativity, as well as low noise and abrasion characteristics compared with the common fastener tracks.

In addition, the section supplements median stripes with shrubs and flowers, such as bougainvillea spectabilis, to adorn the urban landscapes.

In the future, Guangzhou Development District Communications Investment Group and construction group China Railway 25th Bureau Group will accelerate the construction of the Yuyan Road and Kuangchuang Avenue sections of tram line 2.
