Huangpu to build 6 aprons for emergency rescue helicopters

Guangzhou's Huangpu district will build six aprons for emergency rescue helicopters by June 10, 2021.

The selected sites include the open space before the dam of Jinkeng Reservoir, between the Huangpu district government building and Civic Square, the rooftop of the Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Exit-Entry Building, in Huangpu Park and China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City squares, as well as Shuimo Park.

A helicopter apron will be built on the open space before the dam of Jinkeng Reservoir.

Helicopters are one of the most effective means of emergency rescue in the world. They can quickly reach sites where transportation by water or land is inaccessible in case of traffic accidents, natural disasters, medical rescue, disaster relief, and other sudden emergencies.

In addition to being able to be deployed in search and rescue, supplies transportation, as well as air command, helicopters can also monitor real-time traffic and accident information. The construction of the helicopter aprons will further increase Huangpu's emergency rescue efficiency and capability.
