Huangpu's first women's, children's hospital to open by 2021

The first phase of the Women's and Children's Hospital Affiliated to Guangzhou Medical University has seen the major structure of its inpatient building topped off on Oct 19.

The hospital is located in the Changlingju area of Guangzhou's Huangpu district and near Changping Metro Station. It is expected to be a domestically leading third-grade class-A hospital that integrates medical treatment, scientific research, teaching, prevention, and healthcare.

Its specialties will include gynecology, obstetrics, obstetrics, neonatology, pediatrics, prenatal diagnosis, assisted reproduction, and stem cell R&D.

With a floor area of 78,000 square meters, the first phase of the hospital will be equipped with 500 patient beds. Its outpatient building and the administrative building have entered the refined decoration stage.

When the first phase comes into operation in August 2021, it will be able to provide outpatient, emergency, and healthcare services for 550,000 patients annually, while receiving 30,000 inpatients.
