Upgraded Huangpu Park reopens to public

Updated : 2020-10-21

Huangpu Park has reopened to visitors during the National Day holiday after completing renovation and upgrades on its infrastructure and landscapes.

The walls of the park were torn down to integrate it with the surrounding public spaces. Greenbelts and plants were optimized to create an open and tiered visual effect.

The upgraded Huangpu Park is popular with locals and tourists.

In addition to improvements to the power supply, lighting, broadcasting, and surveillance systems, the decade-old water supply pipelines were upgraded as cracks had appeared on many of them, with some road sections having been seriously flooded.

Major park roads were paved with asphalt to meet the needs of joggers, while the entrance squares were also paved with stone materials.

Built in 1998, the 100,000-square-meter park is comprised of a central lake and the land areas that enclose it.
