Nanfang Daily: GDD to advance biomedicine reform, innovation with provincial authority

The Guangzhou Development District (GDD) Administrative Committee will team up with the Guangdong Medical Products Administration to push forward the pioneering reform and innovation of the biomedicine sector under the cooperation agreement they signed on Aug 24.

It marked the first time in the country that a provincial medical product authority will cooperate with a national development district in biomedicine. Not only will this partnership make fully use of the advantages of the Guangdong Medical Products Administration in management, policy making, and expertise, but also it will make full use of the advantages of GDD in its solid industrial foundation, abundant talent resources, various platforms, and flexible mechanisms.

The two sides will enhance cooperation in drugs, medical equipment, administrative licensing for cosmetics products, daily supervision, case investigation, and talent cultivation.

In addition, they will pilot innovative policies, jointly build a technical support platform for statutory test institutions, as well as push forward reform in administrative assessment and approval.
