Huangpu increases investment to improve people's livelihoods

In recent years, Guangzhou's Huangpu district has increased investment in infrastructure in major areas affecting people's livelihoods, such as education, medicine, culture, transportation, living and environmental governance.

Huangpu financial bureau has invested 1.56 billion yuan ($225.2 million) over the last three years in the construction and maintenance of buildings such as local kindergartens, primary schools and middle schools, as well as for purchasing teaching equipment and facilities, improving education conditions in Huangpu, and promoting the balanced development of local education.

A total of 935 million yuan has been invested in elevating the level of health infrastructure in Huangpu over the past three years, accelerating the construction or renovation of local hospitals such as Guangzhou Development District Hospital, Lingnan Hospital of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, and the Huangpu Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital.

In 2020, the financial bureau has planned to put 3.67 billion yuan into the construction of the local traffic network to make it more convenient for local residents, with projects including the east extension part of Guangzhou Metro Line 4, the second phase of Guangzhou Metro Line 7 and the expansion of the Guangzhou-Shantou Express.

In addition, a total of 1.87 billion yuan has been used in the comprehensive improvement of the ecological environment and water environment to make life in the district better.
