The color planning project of China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC) in Guangzhou's Huangpu district has won the golden prize of the Novum Design Award (NDA), being the first international prize won by China in urban color planning.
A French world-leading design award, the NDA covers various areas spanning urban planning, landscape design, architectural design, lighting design, digital art, and graphic design.
CSGKC's project, directed by Professor Guo Hongyu, won a high mark of 93 out of 100 in the category of urban planning and landscape design.
In this project, the exclusive color system is used to strengthen the spatial and cultural image of CSGKC, as well as to create urban characteristics with symbolic significance of colors.
A special urban color system was created for CSGKC, integrating elements including bright colors standing for the daylight of Guangzhou, green to reflect the local natural environment, blue symbolizing advanced technologies, as well as other colors with characteristics from Singapore's architecture.
Currently, the project has been included in the urban design project along Chuangxin Avenue and Kaifang Avenue, further promoting the city's profile, as well as bringing the planning and construction of CSGKC to a new height.
