Four railway lines to pass through Yuzhu Railway Station in Huangpu

Updated : 2020-08-19

With the release of the construction plan for intercity railways in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the overall plan to turn Guangzhou into a comprehensive transport center between 2018 and 2035, Guangzhou has its eyes on becoming an international transportation hub.

Yuzhu Railway Station, as a supplement to Guangzhou Railway Station, will become a transit station for four railways, namely Guangzhou-Shanwei high-speed railway, Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Zhuhai-Macao high-speed railway, and Guangzhou-Shenzhen railway, as well as the intercity railway line connecting Foshan and Dongguan via Guangzhou.

Guangzhou-Shanwei high-speed railway, connecting Guangzhou, Huizhou and Shanwei, is about 241.54 kilometers long. With a designated maximum speed of 350 km per hour, the travel time between Guangzhou and Shanwei will be shortened to one hour.

The line is expected to be put into operation by 2023, helping Shanwei to better integrate into the Greater Bay Area and boosting local development.

Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Zhuhai-Macao high-speed railway, stretching 140 km, has a designated maximum speed of 350 km/h and will allow passengers to travel from Guangzhou and Zhuhai to Macao in about half an hour.

Guangzhou-Shenzhen railway, with a designated speed of 200 km/h, is the first intercity railway in Guangdong province, and incorporates three modern provincial cities - namely Guangzhou, Dongguan and Foshan - into the one-hour transportation circle.

The intercity railway line connecting Foshan and Dongguan via Guangzhou has a planned length of 107 km and is scheduled to become a fast channel linking Foshan and Guangzhou.
