Huangpu sees increase in IPR cases in H1

The Huangpu intellectual property bureau has handled 80 cases on intellectual property rights (IPR) complaints during the first six months of 2020, a year-on-year growth of 233 percent and a total that has exceeded the number of IPR complaint cases in 2019.

The Huangpu district court has handled 893 civil cases on IPR in this period, up 50 percent year-on-year, of which 605 have closed. 

Huangpu district has devoted continuous efforts in deepening national pilot comprehensive reform in IPR application and protection in the first half of the year.

It has taken the lead in IPR protection through measures like setting up the first protection alliance by a local government and companies in the industry, establishing the first service station on IPR protection assistance and protection in Guangzhou, as well as building two IPR service stations for integrated circuits and fine chemical engineering.
