Huangpu hosts intl conference on stem cell, precision medicine

The 2020 International (Guangzhou) Stem Cell and Precision Medicine Industrialization Conference was held on Aug 8 in Guangzhou International Bio Island, Huangpu district, gathering experts and scholars from home and abroad for online and offline activities. 

Communication and cooperation in areas spanning the application of stem cells and precision medicine in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic as well as boosting industrial science research and development were carried out during the conference.

Experts like Randy W. Sheckman, winner of the Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine, Xu Tao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Su Guohui, academician of CAS, delivered lectures during the conference, sharing the latest innovations and applications in stem cell and precision medicine.

In addition, Bioland Laboratory, Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of SUSY, and Guangdong Saliai Stem Cell Science and Technonlogy Co Ltd signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the development of new drugs for stem cell treatment of pulmonary fibrosis.

Chen Haijia, director of Guangdong Saliai Stem Cell Science and Technonlogy Co Ltd and chairman of the conference, said that the event will open a new development pattern for the stem cells and precision medicine industry.
