Huangpu to build 12,000 5G base stations by 2022

Guangzhou's Huangpu district will build 12,000 5G base stations and establish more than 30 demonstration projects on 5G application by 2022.

The industrial output value of 5G and other related industries in Huangpu is expected to exceed 30 billion yuan ($4.31 billion) by 2022.

Currently, Huangpu has set up six places for local residents to experience 5G. These places have transferred 5G signals to the WiFi network through specialized equipment.

Here are the six places in Huangpu to experience 5G:

1. The lobby on the first floor of Block A of the district's administration center

2. The first to fourth floors of the Kaitong Building

3. The reading area on the first floor of Huangpu Public Library (Xiangxue branch)

4. Public areas of the outpatient building of Guangzhou Development District Hospital

5. Luogang Xiangxue Park

6. Outdoor area of Guangzhou Science City Square
