Nanfang Daily: LG Display achieves mass production of new OLED panels

The operation lines for generation 8.5 of LG Display's organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) display panels achieved mass production on July 23, marking a milestone in the popularization of OLED television and its development in the Chinese market.

LG Display is currently the only company capable of the mass production of large-sized OLED panels globally.

The production lines in Guangzhou mainly produce OLED panels at large sizes such as 48 inches, 55 inches, 65 inches and 77 inches. The monthly production capacity is expected to be increased from the current 60,000 units to 90,000 units in the future, according to market demand.

LG Display has formed an industrial cluster covering businesses both upstream and downstream of panel manufacturing, creating new job opportunities for locals while making contributions to regional economic development.
