A total of 120 major projects in new infrastructure have settled down in Guangzhou's Huangpu district this year, according to the district's recently released detailed plan.
The projects, which have an overall investment of more than 150 billion yuan ($21.22 billion), have covered seven industries, namely 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, industrial internet, ultrahigh-voltage power, rail traffic, and new energy charging piles.
The plan unveiled four major areas for these projects based on their categories, namely the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC), Guangzhou Science City, the Yuzhu area, and Guangzhou International Bio Island.
Guangzhou Science City will focus on the construction of a demonstration zone on the integrated development of industrial internet. Efforts will be made in pushing forward the intellectualization of manufacturing equipment and the digitalization of production.
Mino Auto Equipment, which is a company engaged in providing comprehensive services for automobile body production lines, has launched a project for virtual factories. It has been selected as one of the pilot demonstration projects on industrial internet in 2019.
Guangzhou International Bio Island will be built into a smart island featuring biosafety with the help of advanced information technologies like 5G and AI.
