Foreign officials in Guangzhou visit Huangpu biomedicine company

A delegation of representatives from consulates general of 35 foreign countries, such as Senegal, Denmark, and Sudan, visited Daan Gene Co Ltd of Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou's Huangpu district on May 5.

Daan Gene is a high-tech company involved in molecular diagnostic techniques and is one of the two companies in China that first released testing kits for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

"The company not only produces the testing kits for COVID-19 quickly but has also realized the mass production of the testing kits. Currently, the testing kits we produce can support foreign countries and regions, as well as meet domestic needs," said Zhou Xinyu, general manager of Daan Gene.

The company has sent a total of more than 100 boxes of supplies to Baghdad, Iraq, including testing kits for COVID-19, as well as nucleic acid extraction and biohazard safety equipment in March.

Diyar Khan, consul general of Pakistan, said that the visit has allowed him to learn more about the production level of Huangpu companies in making testing kits.

"Pakistan and China enjoy a deep friendship and China has donated anti-epidemic supplies to Pakistan. We have confidence in Chinese products," said Khan.
