Huangpu enacts strict measures to control imported COVID-19 cases

Guangzhou's Huangpu district has carried out strict measures to control imported cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), leaders of Huangpu district said during a news conference held on March 27.

Huangpu district has transferred and served a total of 2,332 passengers entering the Chinese border from overseas areas. All 1,386 passengers whose destinations were Huangpu district have been put into isolated medical observation.

Useful tools such as a WeChat mini program and quick response (QR) codes have been developed to quickly collect information on passengers entering Guangzhou from overseas areas, such as their basic information and health conditions, achieving full information sharing among ports, hotels, local centers for disease control and prevention, as well as transportation hubs.

Currently, Huangpu is able to provide accurate and quick transfer services for passengers from overseas areas within 48 hours.

A total of 12 working groups have been set up at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to transfer passengers as soon as possible, and an additional six groups were established, managing different areas spanning transportation, security, translation, and hotel services.

Special care is also available, such as respecting people's eating habits and offering one-to-one service for the disabled.
