Economic Daily: Huangpu company uses Beidou in epidemic control and prevention

Guangzhou Haige Communications Group Incorporated Company, which is based in Guangzhou Science City, Huangpu district, has distributed smart bracelets for nearly 100 employees resuming work from other provinces on Feb 10 for the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus epidemic.

Being a leading company in the new generation of information technology, Haige applied its own Beidou-based location service system in the bracelet, making the bracelet be able to be updated with the latest information on the coronavirus epidemic released by the government, sending alarms to users to avoid going to places with high risks.

Gao Shan, the person in charge of the research and development team of the service system, said that the system can automatically compare users' paths with the paths of confirmed patients and give suggestions to users.

In addition, the system is equipped with a variety of functions, such as providing precise location of users and their vehicles, allowing the company to supervise its employees’ real-time situation.

"After wearing the bracelet, the system will give out alarms and send messages automatically to the members of company's group for epidemic control and prevention if I step out of the dormitory area," said an employee under home quarantine who has returned to Guangdong province from other provinces.

"We can also use the bracelet to make phone calls with the relevant people in the group directly and use the 'SOS' function to call the police in case of emergency," added the employee.

It is expected that the system will be used in other places with a large flow of people, such as airports, railway stations, hospitals, communities, and schools, to provide technology support for effective information management and control in the fight against the novel coronavirus epidemic.
