Yangcheng Evening News: Huangpu Customs clears China's first returned cross-border e-commerce packages

China's first batch of returned imported cross-border e-commerce packages was cleared by Shatian Customs under Guangzhou's Huangpu Customs on Jan 5 after examinations.

A total of 174 orders from Cainiao Network, the logistics unit of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, worth 14,169.31 yuan ($2,057.46) were covered in this batch. 

"It has offered a practical solution to deal with the problems existing in returning imported e-commerce goods and will further improve the competitiveness of cross-border e-commerce," said Gao Yongzhuang, division chief of the port control office of Huangpu Customs. 

"Shatian Customs has dealt with 320 billion cross-border e-commerce orders of 20.93 billion yuan. Carrying out return services is an important act to bring more conveniences in cross-border trade," noted He Shaohui, director of Shatian Customs.
