The district of Huangpu and the Guangzhou Development District in Guangzhou, capital city of south China's Guangdong province, have constructed 7,740 apartments in 14 projects and provided a housing allowance to attract more talents to settle down and work in the city.

The local government this May adopted a regulation stipulating that professionals from the outside can enjoy a 100 percent financial subsidy of their housing rental for five years.

So far, 5,199 apartments have been made available to over 1,500 enterprises and are occupied by 10,000 individuals. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

In addition to places reserved for drinking coffee, reading, and meeting guests, they are equipped with service centers for consultation about policies, industrial incubation, and supporting facilities.

Meanwhile, the local government will hold activities and build platforms for exchanges of information and resources in a drive to promote communication between enterprises and talents.

Furthermore, a one-stop online management platform has been established where talents can submit their applications and complete the registration of their chosen apartments. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
