Celebration for the birthday of Zhong Yuyan (municipal-level intangible cultural heritage)

Celebration for the birthday of Zhong Yuyan is held annually in the Yuyan Academy on the 20th day of the fifth lunar month to celebrate the birthday of Zhong Yuyan(1155~1225), the ancestor of the Zhong family in Luogang.

The celebration includes a worship ceremony, poetry recitals and a parade. Generally the male Zhong offspring offer sacrifices first and then the others follow. After the rite, all the worshipers sing a song with musical instruments to pay their tribute to Zhong Yuyan.
