Huangpu district pledged to start construction of Rencai Avenue from Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City to Guangzhou Tianhe district and incorporate the Knowledge City Station into the national and provincial planning of the Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area interurban railway this year.

It is expected that the investment in fixed assets in Huangpu will exceed 140 billion yuan ($21 billion) in 2019, an increase of more than 20 percent over the same period last year.

The move aims to strengthen the interconnection between Knowledge City, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao, build a one-hour traffic circle in the Greater Bay Area, and upgrade its level as an innovation center.

Meanwhile, Huangpu will vigorously promote land acquisition and demolition to accelerate the pace of urban renewal and transformation.

According to statistics, 11,712 mu (7.8 square kilometers) of land was expropriated, 7.61 square kilometers of land were demolished and 15,331 mu (1.02 square kilometers) of land was collected in 2018 in the district.

In 2019, the district will have 87 key requisition and demolition projects, including 26 new ones and 18 key provincial and municipal ones requiring substantial land acquisition and storage and demolition.
