The seven-day Luogang Xiangxue Cultural Tourism Festival was open on Dec 28, and will last till Jan 3, 2019.

Accordingly, a total of more than 4,000 plum trees in Luogang Xiangxue Park have begun to flower, making appreciating Luogang Xiangxue (fragrant plum blossoms in Luogang) - one of the old Eight Sights of Guangzhou - once again the must-have experience during a Guangzhou winter trip.

During the festival’s treasure hunt, visitors are able to participate in different sorts of interaction games, such as poem composing, of course themed on plum flowers, in exchange for souvenirs featuring the festival.

Since the first Luogang Xiangxue Cultural Tourism Festival was held in 2008, there have been nearly seven million visitors. To look back at the last ten years and forward to the next ten a special logo was designed for this festival for Luogang Xiangxue, with its own exclusive identification code.

Huangpu, one of the starting points of the ancient maritime Silk Road, is the location of the Nanhai God Temple, the largest and best preserved sea god temple with a history of more than 1,400 years. Against the background of Nanhai God Temple, the leading character of the living theatre "The Adventure of Boluomi", which will premiere on Jan 11, 2019, will also make an appearance during the festival.
